My Spiritual Journey in Cape Town.

One of my first journeys in Cape Town was my visit to Robben Island. Robben Island is a world Heritage site. They say, it is one of the very few places,when you are staying on one Heritage site you can see the other (Table Mountain).

Robben Island ( the name is Dutch for "seal Island")is roughly oval, 3,3km long, 1,9 km wide. It is flat.

It is most well known island prison in the world. Nelson Mandela, the former president of South Africa and Nobel Laureate spent 18 of the 27 years of his jail term, as well as Kgalema Motlanthe ( first Pedi President) and current president of South Africa Jacob Zuma.

Historically Robben Island was used for isolation either of prisoners or, later on as a leper colony , and animal quarantine station. It became maximum security prison in 1961 till 1991.

If you want to go to Robben Island you need to take a ferry from V&A waterfront. Find the Clock Tower, which is quite prominent, has red colour, and buy a ticket.

It will take you approximately 30 minutes to get there by ferry, than you continue your journey in a bus with a guide tour.

Our guide tour was a student from Germany, very friendly and knowledgeable.He was studying political sciences and he knew a lot about South African history. His comments were very interesting, and he was able to engage most of us in conversation and answer our questions.He took us for a tour around the island.

We visited maximum security prison with the stop for Mr. Mandela's cell. We also had a chance to speak with the former prisoner.It was very moving to hear about prison experience, but seeing prison cells made everything so real and close to us.

I will not forget my trip to Robben Island. I think, if you are in Cape Town , it is a must to go there, to pay your tribute to one of the greatest leaders in the world- Mr.Nelson Mandela.

One of the beautiful socialites and businesswomen of Johannesburg was Hazel Crane. She was a firm favourite of A-list personalities after she became close friend of Winnie Madikizela-Mandela. Hazel was present at most of charity events and she was known for her exceptional generosity. Hazel Crane made headlines of Johannesburg newspapers once again on the 10th of November 2003 after she was shot on her way to the court to testify against a man, who was accused in murdering her estranged husband, and who she helped to arrest.      M айдан- это откровение и политика ; это трагедия и исторический процесс, который показал лицо нации. Благодаря Майдану мы стали формироваться как нация. Вследствие Майдана другие государства стали замечать Украину. Украина вышла на сцену мировых событий и выделилась из всех остальных бывших республик СССР.  Что послужило толчком к Майдану?
